Unfortunately this show has had to be cancelled as The Been has broken her arm. I am trying to find an act to take their place so please keep the date clear
It is a pleasure to welcome back the incredible Never The Bride to Wokingham Music Club.
When Wokingham Music Club opened in 2012 Never the Bride where our first act and they have been regulars ever since.
Tonight’s show is a stripped back show just Nikki and Been. Never the Bride at their best in my opinion.
Supporting Never The Bride is a fantastically talented singer songwriter - Satin Beige
She is a Jazz and R&B cellist and singer songwriter. Her music has been described by https://www.getintothis.co.uk as “cello infused, lyrically soulful R ‘n’ B” with “something of an Ed Sheeran and Alicia Keys lovechild vibe”.
She has received a special mention award at the UK Music awards (2017), played at festivals around the country including Sound City, Carlisle Blues and Rock Festival and opened the main stage at Africa Oye (2019) – The UK’s largest African music festival, supported Roachford on his UK tour, opened four sold out nights at The Music Room (Philharmonic Hall, Liverpool) supporting Connie Lush, supported Chelcee Grimes (RCA) at her sold out hometown show in Liverpool, and performed with Tommy Scott from Space.
She has enjoyed airplay on BBC Introducing Merseyside and her single “Being Me”- a song addressing attitudes towards race- has been played by BBC introducing Merseyside , BBC 6 Music (Tom Robinson show) and added to the playlist in all Caffe Nero stores in the UK.
This lady is an emerging talent and we are honoured to have her play for us
